There are some things that you are going to need to make building your web pages easier.
If you don't have one yet, download a good HTML editor. You can just edit your pages with notepad and save them with a .html extension, but an HTML editor will save you a lot of work.

Take some time to learn to use it before you start modifying pages. It may be necessary to read the docs and help files that come with it. This time is well spent.
You should test your pages in more than one browser. The top browsers at the present time are IE5.5 , 6.0 and Mozilla. The pages in this kit have been tested in IE5.5 and Mozilla 5.0.
If you get the code right, your pages won't be exactly the same in IE and Mozilla, but they will be close.
Most HTML editors now include an FTP tool for uploading and downloading your pages from the internet. If your HTML editor doesn't have one, you can get one free from our website. (createafreewebsite.net)
