If you are still using dial up internet and thinking about high speed internet, research all of your options before you consider satellite. I had to settle for HughesNet Satellite and I do believe it is the worst mistake of my life.
Read the fine print on Hughesnet. There is a 200mb daily bandwidth limit. If you exceed it, your internet speed slows down to 20kbs (even slower than a dial up modem). That means you can't watch movies or sports events like everyone else on high speed. You can even exceed your limit watching movie trailers or music videos.
Even a couple of behind the scenes Windows updates or virus protection updates and you are running on 20kbs for 24hours.
The money back guarantee is a lie. If you aren't satsified you must pay $700 for your free equipment to terminate your 2 year contract. The basic package is $70 a month, about 5 times what DSL charges.
HughesNet is a legal scam in my opinion. Comments (0)
