Color

When ordering it is best to specify color by using Hexidecimal code or a name from our color chart. If you specify a name you should realize that there are multiple options for some color names in the standard web palette. (Example: Purple, Grey) Be specific. Hexidecimal Code Chart

If you specify a color by name, that is not on our chart, you probably won't get your order. Use Hex code for these orders. Search Google for 'hex code your color name'

Background Color

Transparent IS NOT a Color!!
Background color refers to the color of the page or page section where the image will be placed. Though 'all images we create have transparent backgrounds', they need to be created on the same or similar background that they will be placed on.

The image shown above was created on a white background. Notice the white fringe when the image is placed on a different colored background.

If you are placing your logo or heading on a background image, it is best to specify no for the shadow option. You should also try to specify a color that is close to the main color of your background image. Black or dark grey works well with darker backgrounds. White or light grey works with lighter backgrounds.

Width

The width of a graphic is measured in pixels. The average browser window when opened fully at a monitor resolution of 1024x768 can view a page width of about 900 to 950 pixels. If you want the graphic to span about a half width of the page you would specify 450 - 475 pixels.

NOTE: Most monitors today are shipped with their resolution preset to over 1000 pixels in width.

Height settings are determined automatically by the width setting. Don't specify height

Dimensions of the some sample images are shown below the graphic.

When choosing a width setting, consider the number of characters in your text string.

Notice the string of text shown above. Can you image how small and unreadable it would be at a width setting of 100.

To give you an idea of pixel measurements, the same image is displayed below with its width in pixels. (Table width is 550 pixels)

Font

Fonts are chosen by selecting from the drop down list box. Size of font is usually determined by the width settings.
