Joomla Content Editor

At the present time, we do not recommend any CMS or WEB 2.0 compliant applications for beginners. Security issues have rendered these types of applications a sieve for hacker and spammer activity. Addressing these problems is beyond the ability of beginners and even some experienced website authors. Due to recent DDOS attacks, we have removed all Joomla and WordPress example sites from our account!

The left side of the content editor is a simple WYSIWYG editor. Just type your text and alter it as you would with any wordprocessor.

The right side of the editor has tabs for functions like Images and Meta Tag information.

Clicking the Images Tab opens the MOSImage Control. The process of adding images to your web pages is very simple.

Use the Meta Info Tab to add the Description and Keyword meta tag information that will be used for the page when it is generated.

Before you start working on your Joomla website, visit the joomla.org website and find the free component JoomlaXplore. It will make it a lot easier to navigate the Joomla folders and help in the process of uploading images.

About Adding Images

I also recommend getting a third party FTP tool to simplify the process.

Joomla does have a built in Media Manager for this purpose, but I don't recommend using it. It is slow, clumsy and very confusing to use.

Go to www.coreftp.com and get a free copy of CoreFTP Lite. Download, install it and learn to use it. We provide a tutorial for setting up the tool on our website.

When you do upload your images put them in the images/stories folder. Do not put them in the template images folder as you won't be able access them with the MOSImage Control.
